Day 1: Saigon – Dalat
Escape the busy and get off for Dalat up the central highland with plantations of rubber trees, tea, coffee and green scenery with a waterfall visiting. We will arrive in Dalat about 5pm, check in, have a break, dinner and stay overnight at Dalat.
Day 2: Da Lat to Lak lake
Leave the Dalat after visiting the highlights of the city like, Crazy House, Flower Market, Dragon Pagoda, for the countryside to explore the rural life of the farmers who cultivate on their flower, coffee, tea, mushroom, vegetable farms. We will have a local lunch with different dishes of Vietnamese cuisine.
Visiting the orange agent areas to learn more about the Civil War of Vietnam before 1975, Trekking through the jungle to relax and enjoy the breath-taking nature of the Central Highland, visit chopstick making factories, and the rice agriculture of the M’nong ethnic minority.
Lak Lake will be a place where you stay overnight, you can choose to do a home stay with locals or in the hotel that faces a natural lake with 600.000 square meters.
Day 3 : Lak lake – Buon Me Thuot
Leaving Lak Lake for Buon Me Thuot City after experiencing the daily life of locals, riding elephant to explore the area or riding boat around the lake to have some great shots of the sunrise on the lake, or fishermen, trekking to the top of the Elephant Rock mountain to enjoy the panoramic view of the area. Stop in the city to try Vietnamese fresh spring rolls for lunch.
Head to Dray Sap fall (the most beautiful waterfall) where you can dip your body into the Fairy Pool next to the waterfall after a hot day traveling. Go to Virgin waterfall and stay overnight in the bungalow or in the Long House in the jungle.
Day 4 : Buon Me Thuot – Pleiku
Ride on the old Ho Chi Minh trail to learn more about the history of Vietnamese people during the French colony and the Civil War, the daily life of highlanders who live along the road to see how they make rice papers, noodles. Pleiku is a place where you stay overnight after a long day’s ride.
Day 5 : Pleiku – Kon Tum
Visit the city a bit then head to the Lake, which used to be a volcanic crater that stopped working a million years ago., a great place to take some good photos for the trip, also considered the ‘Eyes of Pleiku’. Continue traveling to Kon Tum where you visit Kon Tum Prison, wooden church, orphanage, especially the Kon Ktu village where you see the Banah hill tribe “Rong” house and learn their tradition and culture by their customs and daily life. Stay overnight in Kon Tum.
Day 6: Kontun – Kham Duc town
Continue riding on the Ho Chi Minh trail to visit the well-known Phoenix Airport, Charlie hill,one of the biggest army bases of south VietNam that was shot down in summer of 1972. see more about the different cultures between Churu, Banah, Thai, somes of the 54 different ethnic minorities in Viet Nam. Reach Kham Duc, a mountain town on Ho Chi Minh trail and stay overnight.
Day 7: Kham Duc – Aluoi town
Exploring the local market of the mountain town of Kham Duc to learn more about the rural life of the highlanders as well as other ethnic minorities. Leaving Kham Duc for A Luoi after visiting the marvelous Truong Son Mountain and Ho Chi Minh trail, the typical Rong houses of Tay hill tribe. Stay overnight in Aluoi
Day 8: Aluoi – Hue
Leaving A Luoi for Hue: Visit the historic vestiges Hamburger hill, Ho Chi Minh trail, Minh Mang tomb, citadel. Go to small villages to see how they make conical hats, Nam Giao old village. Arrive in Hue around 4 p.m. (You also can go to Hue from Hoi An, after finish 6 day trip from Dalat to Hoi An, the next day you can head to Hue after visiting marble mountain, ceramic making village, rice fields, conical hat making village)
Day 9: Hue discovery
Hue used to be the capital of Vietnam, so it’s worth staying one day to visit and see more about the Vietnamese tradition, history, custom, culture. Go to visit Linh Mu pagoda, Kim Long old village where you can learn the Vietnamese people making traditional rice wine, the way locals harvest rice on the fields, Hue Museum, citadel, ride on the boat to listen to Hue folk songs at night
Day 10: Hue – DMZ – Cua Tung beach
Leaving Hue for Dong Ha, stop in DMZ and then to Vinh Moc tunnel to explore it with your guide. Continue traveling on Ho Chi Minh trail to see the breath-taking nature of Northern Truong Son mountain. Overnight at Cua Tung beach
Day 11 : Cua Tung beach – Phong Nha Cave
Leaving Cua Tung for Phong Nha cave, the largest and most beautiful cave in Vietnam,World’s Heritage site in 2003, do a boat trip and visit underground caves and walk up to see dry cave interest of stalagmites. overnight at Phong Nha cave
Day 12 : Phong Nha cave – Tan ky
Leaving for Dong Hoi, we ride for Tan Ky the beginning of the Ho Chi Minh Trail and stayed overnight.
Day 13: Tan Ky – Ninh Binh – Tam Coc
Today we ride to Tan Ky for Ninh Binh with a boat ride where it is considered as Halong Bay in Land.
14: Ninh Binh – Hanoi
After having breakfast, we will ride to the boat terminal for our boat ride where you can see local boat persons rowing their boats by legs and visit the Halong on land. After visiting the caves, we will head for Hanoi with local lunch break on the way.
